J.E.Mueller is known as the storyteller among her friend group. Telling tales and weaving plots was always second nature for Mueller growing up. After college Mueller decided to go from telling and dabbling in plots to actually getting a novel out there in the world. After many cups of coffee later, and several dead red pens, there was success. Aside from writing, the author also enjoys reading a wide variety of books and has even joined in helping others with the writing process by alpha and beta reading. When not part of the written world, Mueller can also be found playing action/adventure games, rpgs, sandbox, and nonsense games. Some of her favorites include. Skyrim, Alice: Madness Returns, Splatoon, Fat Princess, Stardew Valley, and the Legend of Zelda series. Published work. Fire's Song QuestionsWhat are you currently working on? Currently I am working on editing book two of my series. Are you a planner or a pantser? A plantser! I vaguely plan the beginning and write until I get stuck. From there I plan a bit more and repeat until the end. How long have you been an author? I've been published since June 2017, and have been writing much longer than that. How long does it take you to plan a new book? Planning takes nothing. Writing takes about 1-3 months, and self editing another month or two before I send it off to a real editor. What is the thing you hate most about writing? E.g editing… The editing. At first it's fine, but after a few drafts the story seems boring and predictable. It's nice having outside eyes to keep the excitement alive at that point. What do you love the most about writing? Seeing how an idea can transform. Sometimes you never know where the characters will take you once they have your idea in hand. It often surprises me. Do you create playlists to go with your books? Not really. Certain scenes may have a song or two, but I mostly listen to videogame and movie soundtracks while writing. Just for fun questionsIf you could have a superpower what would it be? Shapeshifting! I could finally be tall! Or a dragon! The options are wonderfully endless. If you could bring back a character from your favourite book who would it be? (name of the book too please) That is tough. There's many characters who are worth that. What's your favourite food? And would you be happy if you could only eat it for the rest of your life? Potato dumplings. If I can get gravy with it, sure ;) If you could fly what would you do? Finally visit all the wonderful people I've met online. What's your favourite animal? Penguin! Specifically the fairy penguin. What is your favourite song? Oh geeze, you ready for this? My Last Breath by Evanescence. Yep, it's an old one, but I'm still attached to it. J.E.Mueller's links

C. H. Knyght lives in northern MN, in one of the coldest corners of the USA, nearby her family and with her fur babies: two dogs, a cat, and a horse. She was raised in creative pursuits. That, and a love of books grew an interest in writing. She recently got serious about it and buckled down and is working at making a career out of her stories. Published work.. I recently published my first novel “Nightvision Twilight Shadows”. A new adult fantasy about a prince struggling to carry the burden of his crown, and the journey he begins to save his people from an old darkness, and the rescuing of princesses along this way. I am also published in two anthologies, “A Haunting of Words”, and “72 Hours of Insanity vol.3”. QuestionsWhat are you currently working on? I am working on the sequel to my first novel, which is set up to be a trilogy. I also have a few other projects forming. ~ Are you a planner or a pantser? I am mostly a pantser, but I am attempting to add some structure to what I am working on as I don’t want book two to take a decade to write like the first one. Sooo… I’m gonna say both. I think the term for that is plantser. ~ How long have you been an author? I’ve been working at my writing since I was about fifteen or so, officially published as summer of this year, 2017. How long does it take you to plan a new book? *Cough* Well, the first one took a decade; however, the first draft of the second is already done, plus most of the third, and, oh yeah, a fourth novel set in a different world. So, I’m gonna say that depends on the book and how much you sit yourself done and put in the work. Also, NaNoWriMo is a good way to force yourself to sit down and dump it all out. My nano drafts are pretty rough, but they make for a foundation with a few solid pieces to build on. My newest favorite motivation is a website called 4thewords. It a writing game, and offers the motivation to sit down and write at least a little bit every day. What is the thing you hate most about writing? E.g editing… Yeah, pretty much that. Editing, especially after the third or fourth draft. Reading your own book gets tedious after a while. Everything kinda blurs together and it gets hard to actually absorb the words, to see it and what needs worked on. ~ What do you love the most about writing? The characters. I am a very character-driven author. I like to add a touch of magic to the world, whether it is in fantastically creatures, or magical powers. I try to show that you can rise up and triumph over the weaknesses, fail and get up to try again, that you can do whatever it takes to win the day. Do you create playlists to go with your books? Not really, though I always have music going. A pretty wide range of stuff, but mostly rock I guess. I do have a station that I only listen to when I am writing if I need to put myself in a working mindset. Just for fun questionsIf you could have a superpower what would it be? Animal communication/control. I love my fur babies and it would be fun to understand them, or tell them to shush, and have them listen, when they are barking. Or make my Arabian chill out sometimes, twitchy bugger. I don’t know if I want to know what my cat thinks though. Lol ~ If you could bring back a character from your favorite book who would it be? (name of the book too please) Ooh, tough one. Movies have a way of killing off my favorites, namely the dog or the horse, but books are a little better about it… Ok, the first one I can think of with someone actually dying, Lavan Firestorm in Brightly Burning by Mercedes Lackey. She is the author that got me into fantasy and remains one of my favorites. ~ What's your favorite food? And would you be happy if you could only eat it for the rest of your life? My favorite food tends to be pasta, but no, probably not for the whole of my life. I like tacos and pizza too. XD ~ If you could fly what would you do? Haha… Do I have too? I’d go find where the dragons nest. ~ What's your favorite animal? Fantasy, dragons. This world, dogs. I like wolves and horses too, but dogs are and have been a near constant companion to me. ~ What is your favorite song? Oh geez, I live on music. Um… Last of the Wilds, and Meadows of Heaven by Nightwish run pretty high in the list regularly. Castle of Glass by Linkin Park. C. H. Knyght's Links!I'm twenty-nine years old from Pennsylvania, married with two kids and writing at least two books a year. Published work Questions! What are you currently working on? Besides sending out pitches and queries to agents, I'm always editing one manuscript and prepping a new one. I just finished a Fantasy novel about War Seers for a vengeful cursed King. I'm now prepping my second novel in my Culinary Romance line. Are you a planner or a panzer? Planner, all the way. I don't even write the first word of a story unless I know my characters inside and out and have every scene lined up in an outline. I tried being a pantser for a few years in the beginning. It resulted in many non-finished manuscripts and the one that did finished...well, they had such big plot holes that they weren't worth anything more than the delete button. My brain likes everything tidy and neat before working or it sputters out when the excitement wanes. How long have you been an author? I knew I wanted to be a writer since I was eight years old and never lost the ambition. I started writing full-length novels at sixteen. I took some Creative Writing courses in college and my professors took me aside and urged me to start publishing my poetry and short stories. I first became published at twenty. How long does it take you to plan a new book? I like to start prepping three months in advance, minimum. If I do it any shorter than that, I don't get to know my characters deeply enough. The longer I sit on a story, the richer it becomes. I also need to make sure I'm editing other books in between so I don't end up with a pile of first drafts with nothing to show agents. What is the thing you hate most about writing? E.g editing… I hate trying to say I'm finished. I never can confidently say I'm done with a book. I've had books on their eight draft, every single sentence structure examined and I still have a hard time letting it go. I've learned lately that I need to force myself to stop but I never know when is enough. I will edit until a publisher accepts it and then makes me stop. What do you love the most about writing? I love the brainstorming, the worlds that emerge out of nothing. I love creating characters that feel like close friends and going on a journey with them. It's so addicting to spend a few months growing with someone that was once nothing at all. Sometimes it even teaches me about myself. Do you create playlists to go with your books? Absolutely. Every book has a soundtrack that I put together. Some of them are created out of the music I think my character would enjoy. Some just put the mood or the theme of the story so perfectly in place in my mind. When I play music while writing, I can't even hear the songs, but the words just flow from me when it's on. Just for fun QuestionsIf you could have a superpower what would it be? Healing. What's your favourite food? And would you be happy if you could only eat it for the rest of your life? My husband's family introduced me to these Vietnamese eggrolls called Jaja. I thought it was so weird the first time I had them as it was Thanksgiving and instead of turkey, they had these eggrolls, plates of lettuce and a vinegary fish sauce. I've been addicted ever since. I begged to get the recipe from my step-father-in-law. He laughed and said I'd finally get sick of them. Eight years later, I could still eat them every single day happily. The only person I know who can eat more of them and even happier is my husband. If you could fly what would you do? I'd fly over New Zealand every day. I always wanted to live there. I trained for years for a career to work there but cancer ultimately stopped me from going just shy of me moving at nineteen. It's such breathtaking scenery. What's your favourite animal? I really get along with cats. They're a bit aloof and socially awkward, they need alone time, and they love to snuggle with warm, soft blankets, just like me. My cat enjoys my quiet writing time as much as I do! Especially because, even in the summer, I can't write unless I have a fleece blanket around me or my chair. What is your favourite song? It changes, often with each book. I tend to become obsessed with one song that encaptures my story or main character. Last month, my favorite song was probably Younger by French Wives. This month, I've been listening to John Denver on repeat because my new main character loves him. Jill's links!
Kelly Blanchard is a writer who lives in the tiny travel trailer with her EMT husband, her Doberman, and her two cats in middle of nowhere in East Texas. She has been writing all her life and especially enjoys writing fantasy and science fiction. She works hard to contribute to the writing community.Published works Chronicles of Lorrek Book 1: Someday I’ll Be Redeemed. Chronicles of Lorrek Book 2: I Still Have a Soul. Chronicles of Lorrek Book 3: I’m Still Alive. And..... Soon to be published! Chronicles of Lorrek Book 4: Do You Trust Me? Questions! What are you currently working on? I’m working on publishing the fourth book of my series, The Chronicles of Lorrek. The book’s title is ‘Do You Trust Me?” Are you a planner or a panser? I’m both. I do a rough outline of the story, but then I just wing the rest. How long have you been an author? A published author? Six years now. But a writer? All my life. I got serious about it eighteen years ago though. How long does it take you to plan a new book? Not very long. I have a general idea of how I want it to go, but, like I said, I wing it as well. I don’t put too much effort in outlining it because it’s prone to change. What is the thing you hate most about writing? E.g editing… Honestly, there isn’t an aspect of writing that I hate. Each one is different from the other. There are some things about each stage that I don’t like, but there are things about each stage that I love. What do you love the most about writing? Well, this isn’t technically ‘writing’, but my two favorite things about being a writer is 1) seeing the cover of my book for the first time, and 2) getting to hold my newest book in my hands for the first time. That, and writing the most wicked plot twists ever! Do you create playlists to go with your books? No, not really playlists. I do like to listen to Audiomachine, Two Steps From Hell, and Epic Score though. Just for fun questions! If you could have a superpower what would it be? I think teleportation. That would just make things so much easier. What's your favorite animal? I love animals! But I guess I’d stick with cats. I love cats, especially big cats…specifically cheetahs. I love cheetahs!
